So I ordered some coral from an online vendor who is not on mr reefs and they sent out my package in the middle of this heatwave with no cold packs. I clearly warned them before and was told that there was no need to worry. Well the fedex truck got held up and the package didnt get to me till 3:30 pm so when I got the box it was super hot and almost everything inside was dead. I ordered 5 higher end zoas and a gold torch, the torch is gone and two of the zoas melted. The guy says he will reolace it with my next order but I have no intention of placeing another order any time soon. Is this fair or should he replace everything without me having to buy more stuff ?

Talk with your credit card company. They will do a charge back.

He should refund your money but most mail order fish dealers only issue credit. I've had a credit sitting at a dealer for a year and a half. I won't buy fish from them and they have limited dry goods. If the place you dealt with has dry goods to offer use the credit for stuff you'd be buying elsewhere like salt or food something like that.

They don't sell dry goods and have a limited amount of livestock. I've emailed them and offered to pay for shipping if they will send out another box of the same coral after this nasty wave ends. Or they could just refund me the money. If all else fails I guess I could put in a paypal claim but I'm going to give these guys a chance to make it rite. This is not a big shop just a guy selling the coral he grows ( I think )

Was the Fedex pkg shipped with a guaranteed arrival time, such as by 10am or by noon? You say the Fedex delivery got held up and didn't arrive until 3:30. Your first claim is with Fedex to recover your shipping charges if they missed their own deadline. At least this can compensate you for a new order to use your store credit and not have to pay for additional shipping. FYI, Fedex and UPS are both 'stand up' when it comes to reimbursing for their missed delivery times.

It was guaranteed by 10:30 but I thought that was uo to the guy shipping the box to get the money back not me

If you can agree with the vendor that you'll authorize the shipping claim, you can negotiate the free shipping on the subsequent order
