meg out of everything I tried injecting them with boiling water was the most effective.
you must keep the water hot though, it's a pain but use a tea kettle and keep it at a low boil. you also have to siphon out the dead or dying aiptasia. use something to scrape them off the rocks after they are injected.

I had to get an auriga butterflyfish to really solve the problem. the butterfly took a few month to do the job. it's not a perfect fish for the mixed reef tank, but it's better than a tank full of rocks and aiptasia. it's much hardier than a copperband butterfly, which I never recommend anyone buying.
If your tank is small then you can't get the butterfly.
