If you are talking about a threaded fitting into a bulkhead then i would use teflon tape not glue,No sure how your set up is. But if you are hard piping it to your sump then i would use pvc glue on all fittings.if you do hard pipe it all the way then i would use a coupling just in case you have to take a piece out,saves some angry rage later.hope that is what you mean.

slip fittings .i glued the ones going to my sump with unions valves etc....i have a reef ready tank with 2 overflows i was just wondering if the 2 supply and 2 return should be glued they are also slip fittings but they are inside the tank into the bulkhead.

I don't glue mine and i believe most of the people here don't either. It is much easier to leave it that way because sometimes you need to clean them too... just my 2 cents....
