over flow fittings question

hello guys !
Do you guys glue the fitting in the overflow compartment??
i have duel over flow 2 supply 2 return are they suppose to be glued also or can they be dry fitted?

just to be safe you might want to glue it just imagine what will happen if it should happen to break off......

I glue the outside but leave the internal plumbing unglued if im reading your question correctly.

If you are talking about a threaded fitting into a bulkhead then i would use teflon tape not glue,No sure how your set up is. But if you are hard piping it to your sump then i would use pvc glue on all fittings.if you do hard pipe it all the way then i would use a coupling just in case you have to take a piece out,saves some angry rage later.hope that is what you mean.

slip fittings .i glued the ones going to my sump with unions valves etc....i have a reef ready tank with 2 overflows i was just wondering if the 2 supply and 2 return should be glued they are also slip fittings but they are inside the tank into the bulkhead.

I don't glue mine and i believe most of the people here don't either. It is much easier to leave it that way because sometimes you need to clean them too... just my 2 cents....

Sounds like your fine. As long as nothing can pop off like all the external plumbing then your golden. I dont glue anything inside my overflow so i can get it out for cleaning etc.
