overflow making flushing noise

my overflows are going up and down and making flushing noise
i have dual over flows reef ready ..i connected both line into one line and i put union valves under the bulkheads.. i closed these valve a little and it corrected the problem is it ok to do that?

the end of the line is submerged with an elbow..i'm assuming it's be quieter this way

NEVER restrict the overflow with ball valves or any other means of closing the pipe. Also, is the pipe you've got going into the sump a larger diameter than the two 'feed' lines? And, do you have Durso standpipes on the two overflow pipes?

Do not submerge the end of the plumbing. Leave it just above the water line.

i just bought a 120 gallon perfecto dual overflow i believe it a durso it has 1 1/2 inch pipe to 1 inch on the bottom thats what i used...i ran the feed on the right all the way across to the one on the left and i tee'd it off right there makin the one on the left straight down vertical sound ok?

i'll try and take a pic

valves are there just for disconnection purposes and im running a mag 9.

stumped

i cut my pvc and i ran the drain on the right half way across to the left down an elbow and another straight run towards the left into my first chamber on the left its flowin nice and smooth with no backpressure........


now the drain on my left corner i left going straight down vertically i tried all different heights in the water above an elbow etc and its draining bad with alot of flushing sound and movement in my overflow chamber please i need some advice..........i used pvc and glued it should i start over??

i have 1 inch slip bulkheads but it has male threads ..
