This pagoda has not opened in about 3 days. There is an area of bare rock spliting the colony. It is situated mid-tank. The lighting is a 175 W MH 10K bulb. The parameters are as follows: pH: 8.0; Temp 80-81 deg; Alk+ 4.0. No nitrates or phosphates. Is it getting too much lighting and/or too much current? (There are two powersweeps and a rotator on the return from the sump/refugium).

I notice it's close to a Xenia colony. Try moving it a little away. I still distinctly remember my Pagoda (must have been a decade ago) did not appreciate being close to Xenia.

sometimes they close up for over a week but open up again. also make sure nothing is picking at it like angelfish or crabs or worms at night. they will stay closed up if something bugs it enough, like my flame angel.
