i have a 72 gallon tank and about 85 gallon system all together. i checked my parameters today after my every other week 10 gallon water change.

im most likely going to do a 40-45 gallon water change one day this week (just give a +1 if you agree)
all my parameter checked out except for:

ph-9
kh-7
no3-10
ca-440 (i know its good but just wanted to put it)

all my corals are fine except for my acans, the have shrivled up. pics:

Recommeneded bigest water change, and only during an "emergency", is 45%. You should invest in a electronic PH tester, test kits aren't that accurate and depending on the ambient lighting the colors seem different. If all your other coral and fish look good, then PH is definitly not the issue. What it seems like is that you have too much lighting for acans. I aslo tried to house one with no luck. Well, it was my fault as I was trying to house it in a high light environment when it is a low light coral. Metal halide bulbs are quite powerfull, especially if they're double ended. When you get those specs post them. I'm almost possitive its from the light.

If it's the same lights that are on the picture of your avatar, they look very bright. Can you name some of the corals you have at the highest point of the rock work ?
You should also try puting the acan/acans in a shaded area for four days and observe what happens. If you see them start to get even the slightes bit plumpier, then it's the lights.

Sounds like a plan Nick. Hope nothing I said was taken in any wrong way brother, I'm only trying to help out. You doing a 50% water chande is definitly not going to benifit the tank in anyway. What I can see from the pics they look they're being burned, unless your nitrates are thru the roof wich you've said they're not. Keep me posted on how it goes. Good luck
