ive read over the internet that a trick to make phosphates go away is to use Kalkwasser and raise the ph to 8.5-8.6 has any one ever tried this and for how long ? does it take 1 time or several times to make phosphates go away.
I think it will cause the phosphates to precipitate out. Then when you lower the pH it will disolve again. Also, your tank inhabatants wouldn't like that high of a pH.
Try a phosban reactor. They are a good investment IMO.
Starting with good water (RO/DI) and not adding phosphate via unrinsed food or poor quality food (flakes) along with a GFO reactor such as phosban is your best bet.
