The deltec I wanted was $60 more than online. When I said " I really wanted to get it tonight, but it's cheaper on the website" the guy goes, uh huh, and walks away... I was going to offer midway between.

I did pimp out MR business cards all night.

Dont blame the guy, he probably only works there and can't change the prices. And when you can't change the prices, you dont want to deal with people haggling. I worked in a Fish Store before (upstate) and some dry good would be more expensive then online.

Spykes and I picked up a few nice acros (I'll take pics when lights come on) I must say that they're listed prices were really high. When they discounted the 25% the prices were still just above the going rate. For the amount of business they tunover they can afford to at least match their competitions price, if only for that night. That is the reason why I only visit once per year. The most absurd thing I saw was a 2" orange digi for $150!!!!!!!!!!! That must have been a pricing error though(I hope ;)) because I picked up colorful acros for half of that price.

Well, I guess like any store, you have to pick and choose what you buy carefully - I was one of the first at the SPS tank when the door opened (Russ you bastard) and picked up a baseball sized acro that is yellow with peach/pink tips. It was $60 after the discount and thought that was fair (it's all relative).

I spent $130 and typically spend over $400 each year, but I too was not impressed - what turned my spending OFF was the fact that the website initially said 40% off dry goods (like every year prior) and when I got there the flyer said only 25% - :irked:

SO, for $130 I got a nice citron goby for BC's tank, 2 bottles of Garlic Extreme, a 32oz block of frozen mysis, a huge container of Omega One Marine Flakes and my baseball sized acro. All in all, I think I did well for my $130, but then again, I don't go to score huge deals, I go to get out of the house, meets some buddies, have a burger and fries and enjoy.
