Oopss meant to make a comment.

The right side is finnished as far as aquascaping goes.
The middle and left are works in progress, adding rock as the budget allows.

Current occupants are two Dominoe Damsels and a common Prawn/Shrimp Goby. Mean little bugger, the Goby is.

Still cant make up my mind as far as lighting goes. Was going to use Vho, but now I am looking at the T-5 fixtures.

Lights are definitely important. Both T5, VHO, and PC will serve you well. Other equipment that I think are very important, especially for new hobbyists, are a good protein skimmer and RO/DI filter.

Keep it up!

As Len said, lighting is huge. Spend the bucks on two spots, lighting and skimmer. The rest you can pretty much find the best deals! Buy the best, cry once.

Ya I know the lights are important if I want to keep stony type corals.

My brother has a shop full of tools so once I decide on what type lights we are going to make a canopy with cooling fans, reflectors etc.

Its in my bedroom so noise is a factor so no sump. The remora c hang on skimmer looks like the best for me. Gonna hook it up on a timer.

I allow myself 50 US dollors a week to spend so doing all the rock first, then the skimmer then lights. When I finally get around to the corals thinking of a species type tank instead of a garden. Maybe starpolyps.

Anyway Ill add more pics after I get the middle done, should be able to get over and pick up 20-30 pounds of rock this weekend.

I think you are off to a great start. The aquascaping looks natural.

It all takes time. Most people's tank looks exactly like yours for the first couple of months or so.

Have patience. It realistically will take a good couple of years to have something you really can be proud of. Take your time!

They are already mean :D Bite me when I put my ands in the water.

Heh they tried to bully the goby when I added him (only two week qt..>< he wasnt doing so good so I moved him into the main tank) and the goby promptly kicked their ass and sent em packing.
Now they hang out together, the damsels follow the goby as he "flashes" the sand stirring up snacks.

If the damsels get to be a problem Ill just toss em in the blender when I make up some more fish food.
