Pistol Shrimp vs Acro crab

Hey guys, I just picked up a pistol shirmp/goby pair for my nano. While I was at the LFS, I bought some coral of course. In the birdsnest I bought is a nickel sized acro crab Ididn't see. The pistol is only thumb sized. Will carnage ensue?

i doubt it...the acro crab will stay in the birdsnest or other sps exclusively. the pistol shrimp will stay down in the sand. i doubt they'll even see each other unless you have your birdsnest down in the sand.

:lol: it's on the sand at the moment, I wanted to acclimate it to the lights slowly. It'll be moved up shortly.

The pistol will likely not range far from his burrow once established. Conversely acro crabs are loathe to leave the shelter of their chosen host so I doubt you'll have any problems.

They are ignoring one another at the moment, I've just never had this issue come up before. The crab won't venture more that an arm's length from his coral so it looks to be fine...thanks

has your pistol shirmp/goby pair actually paired back up in your tank?

If so wondering how long?

They were already paired at the LFS, and took up right where they left off.
