Plate Coral Eating Sand

My plate eats really well anything I feed it: mysis, brine shrimp, even macro algae, sometimes will take omega 3 marine flakes...but today I just saw it pick up a piece of broken shell and pass it into its mouth. It also loves to eat my angelfish's poop.


Just wondering if anyone else has caught their plate coral eating strange things. I would love to hear people's experiences!
