my clam look really bad , its been like this for 4 days now. waiting on my protein skimmer, old one is not working any more . my phosphate is lilttle too high right now. just did a 25% WC . now my question is should i take this clam out out or leave it in there? please help me

Take it out and put it where? Any other details what-so-ever to help us out in helping? Are you using RODI? Params? Tank size? Fish load? Anything at all?!


Either case, you dont NEED a skimmer to fix it. Get GFO, chaeto, more WC, less feeding, blah blah. That should be good for now. Clam looks like a loss.

120gallon total volume....i use reef crystal for past 2 yrs now
just did some water test with salifert , my pars at;
salinity ;1.0246
calcium :410
ALK; 10.2
Magnesium :1350
i do have a lot of bristle worms in the sand, are they eating my clam?;(i had this clam for 6 months already tho

sounds bad man, i had this happen to one of my friends and he had 2 clams get sick and one of them died , however we tried to save one of them and i did successfully save his monster clam and it is looking beautiful, try to get a buddy to put it in his tank for you, my friends clam responded to my leds in a matter of hours so good luck and give it a shot b4 you wake up to the dreaded ghost shell!!!
