that they are also on the rock? The tank is new just finished up cycle and diatoms are underway. I have not cleaned the glass because there are pods all over it (I went to every hitch hiker thread and it is for sure that is what they are)... couldn't get a pic though sorry.

If I use a magnet to clean up the glass (it is starting to get algae on it) will I kill the pods? Is it safe for me to think they are all over the tank now and not just on the glass? Will it kill them if I clean it up with a magnet?

Was just excited to see them and don't want to kill those that are on the glass by cleaning it up.

Hopefully they will move out of the way when you come at them with the magnet! Go slow so they have time to run :)
I think you can safely ssume if they are on the glass that they are also in the rock..can you see them on there at all? (it's easier at night when the lights have been off)

That is going to be priceless, hubby will think I'm nuts for sure... "Run lil' pods, Run Run!" as I clean the glass.

The lights just went off now so I am going to take a look. Today was the first time I was able to make out the little white dots all over the glass in my daily hour long staring at the rocks.... to make sure no nasties decided to hitch a ride into our tank.

:biglaugh: Russ with my luck that will be the only place in the entire tank that anything that should grow on the rocks will grow(on the front pane of glass--especially considering it is in the wall and that is the only pane of glass I have to look through).
