Power compact question ..

I have a JBJ fixture with 4 power compact bulbs .They are some cheapo ebay bulbs 2 ,10k and 2 actinics ..I was wondering if I could house sps with that fixture and of course soft corals ,clams etc etc ...Will compacts be strong enough or should I go to a T5 ?? also what kind of bulbs should I buy (brand name and colors recommended )This will be for a 90 gallon tank and the fixture is 48"..Thanks Sal

Not for SPS,not enough intensity.I have T-5's on my 90.5 bulbs.

Softies and LPS are fine to keep under PC's just not the SPS and clams

My SPS do fine under PC's, as do my crocea's.....but my tank is smaller..55 gal.

I would imagine that they would be very high up and super intense pc bulbs.

i would not go with anything less than t5s. i remember some1 said buy expensive once is better than buy twice n pay cheap. kinda like measure twice n cut once.
