I use koralia nanos and maxijet 900s in my 36 bow. The korilia runs on the top in the opposite direction from my return, my 2 MJ900s are on a wave timer back and forth and are on opposite sides facing each other about midway down in the tank

I have two Korallia 4's opposite either side of my 175. They seems to move stuff around nicely. Lots of movement, no force to it. Nothing gets ripped up, or moved, but the water keeps flowing.

If you want them to act as a wave maker you need the more expensive version. I have the basic one, and a Tunze wavebox to provide the wave motion.

Perhaps a Rio Polario as an alternative? Not seen a review yet, but looks like it might work. Certainly cheaper than a Tunze anything.

I have tryed 2 diffrent power heads a Koralia3 It sent things in motion to strong then I tryed a maxijet 1200 still very srtong with the shape of my tank I was thinkind of trying 2 Koralia nanos one on each side of the tank how strong should the flow be with the Koralia3 I had to dive for the plug when I saw my Pipe fish getting sucked towards it!!

I don't think you'll be happy with the Koralia Nanos, they are weak for a 40g tank. One was fine in my 12g.

is this a 40 breeder or a cube? If a cube what are the tank dimensions (L, W & H)

I have a koralia 1 and koralia 2 in my 15gallon. I think you might be better off with the 1 rather then the nano. I had the nano and it wasn't what I was looking for. It gives a more natural flow rather then just blasting straight out (which you can put the attachment on if you want that)
