Hi

Just got rid of one of my mp40's
For 2 mp10's
Have a 60 gal cube and 6 gal fluval edge.

Here's what I want to do.
Originally had 1 mp40 and 1 koralia powerheaddont know which number.
Doesn't matter though cause its broken. (fell)

Put 2 mp10's on. Great!
Well I want to take one of them and put on my ill fluval!
That's my other baby.

Well the question now is.
1 mp10 and what else? On the cube?
Keep in mind I have a spot behind rocks.
So ugly is OK
Would like to aim flow.
And want it to rock!
Turning down the mp10 is ok.
Blowing sand around is not!
1000 gph give or take ok?

Opinions, suggestions.
Don't want to get another mp10 yet. That would be crazy.
So it needs to be a ill cheaper.
100$?

Thanx
-Joe

But I downgraded the mp40 to a mp10.

I feel like a koralia and the mp10 isn't enough flow. I'd have to get a bigger korallia. I know theres better powerheads out the. Like a tunze, seio? Not sure really.

i have never had a tunze or seio. i though tunze was on pricey side, not as bad as vortech though. i feel like koralia are bang for the buck really inexpensive and work horses. i have an mp40 and adding koralias to other side and back wall. i cant justify another mp right now

Yea I noticed tunze was more pricey. Saw a model for a little bit less than a 100$ and saw it was adjustable. So I figured that might be a good bet.

-The tunze 6045. Debating that as a replacement.
- koralia Evo 1050
- taam seio m1100
-tunze 6065 a little more but not sure.

Joe... how much more flow do you need? Too much flow isn't necessarily good... and too little flow... isn't too good either. It's the Goldilocks theory... You just have to have a happy medium between water flow in your tank. If you had a 7 foot tank I would say... get as much flow as you can... but with the MP10 put in a place where you can create an optimal flow and just dial it in.

Your MP10 is a varying/ramping power head so if you were to follow the same direction and category, you would be looking at a Tunze 6055 coupled with a singe controller. Cost is relative to another MP10 if bought new. The 6045 is a constant powerhead similiar to the Koralias, just that you can adjust the output but not have it vary.

How big is this tank lol?

An mp10 and a koralia behind the rocks will be fine if ur set on having an mp10 in your edge.

The edge doesnt need an mp10. You can only run it on the lowest settings.

Most people running the mp10 on their edge have it for bragging rights an photos lol. Complete overkill If you ask me.. Not because it's only 6 gallons, because of the dimensions.

On the edge. If it put an mp10 I would have it on lowest settings but I can always ramp it up to get the grime between the rocks.
Also the undertow will help with flow.

It is complete overkill but I can see a few advantages.

Also another thing I've noticed is the whine of the mp10. More so than the mp40. Not a big deal. So I've turned it down.
The way my rock work is done I feel like I have a few dead spots. The mp10 is the main flow. And I want something aim-able. To direct at the rocks.

The more I'm Thinking about it. Might get a another mp10.
Seems so worth it. The Price is hard to swallow.

Thanx
-Joe
