So being the smart person i am, I thought putting my tank on some "foam" stuff would be a good idea to help with any leveling problems I might have had. Now the tank is dipping forward about 1/4th -3/8ths of an inch towards one corner from front to back and the same from side to side.

I know my stand is level with the floor, because I shimmed it and everything before i put the tank on it. So heres my question, since i'm worried about the leaning of the tank, is there any SAFE way to remove the foam without a disaster?

My plan of attack was the drain the tank leavin the rockwork and coral in the tank, lift one end of the tank have someone pull out the foam, then do the same for the other end and re-fill the tank. Not sure how safe that would be...any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

If I shouldnt worry about the lean that would be even better.

How big it this tank? I'm assuming Nano, if it's a 29 or less I don't think it would be a big deal.. I would also say try to get another person so you can lift the tank strait up. depending on the size of course

Lift totally straight up or not at all, and I would take everything out. Keep in mind whatever you leave in it is ONLY being supported by the glass bottom..:arg:

Might as well change tanks if I'm emptying this one out :).

Wonder who's got a cube 33g preferably :).

Thanks for the advice Kathy, Jay and ronc

Humm, If you change tanks take a look at the 37 also. it has the same foot print as the 29 only taller..it looks huge I have had friends ask if it was a 65.

Used to have a 37 and it really did look a lot bigger. I just don't want the tank change to lead to a bunch of upgrades. With the cube I could use the equipment i already have :)
