i just recently bought purple/pink button polyps attached to a piece of live rock, i would like to help them start to spred , considering button and mushroom corals are the only ones my lighting will allow. so is there a way to propogate or just nudge them along, there are about 35-40 on a smalll piece of live rock and othere live rock is right next to them, thankss

:welcome:

Do you know exactly what variety they are? - Or, more simply, do you know if they are active feeders or not?

If they are active feeders... - Well... Feed 'em! :D

If not..... - Well.. - The best thing to feed them is probably light, so in that case, you might be waiting a while to see any sort of decent growth from them if your light is ... well.. - "sub-par".. ;)

As for seperating them out after they've grown out.. - Just rip 'em away. - For the most part, the majority of polyps can be superglued where you want them to stay after that.

You could always have one or more polyps (if possible) leaning on the extra piece of live rock you have and eventually they will attach to the other rock.
