Purple algae ?

So notice been growing purple algae on sand bed, my goby disturbs it where the algae will float elsewhere and keep growing, the thing is my polyps don't like it and will not open if contact....how can I get rid of it

check your water parameters there's something off, do a water change.
Check you RO filters, and what lights are u running?

Siphon it out, blow it off the rocks with a turkey baster, siphon some more and water change, increas flow.

Am dosing special blend for about 3 weeks and added more flow and it seems about 85% better but still have another few weeks of the special blend dosing

Oh I forgot to add they feed on phosphates and nitrates ...
Try not to over feed and check your Ro unit

Chemi Clean does work, and when instructions are followed carefully it is also safe to use.

But, it will come back if you do not follow proper husbandry. Water changes with at least RO 0 TDS water. Run GFO in a reactor. Keep feedings light - this does not mean starve your animals, just don't dump tons of food in the tank, and make sure what you are feeding is not loaded with P04, and rinse all frozen foods.
Keep up with bulb changes.

I was having similar issue with my reef lately due to high P04 from lots of death since "Super Storm Sandy". I was going to dose "Chemi Chleen" but went another route. It is now receding slowly.
