Zebrasoma gemmatum, apparently very rare and expensive in the rest of the world. This is a self caught pair of large beautiful tangs- the photos dont do them justice. (I am a hopeless photographer.)

Now are those full adults or juveniles? Only reason I ask is every picture I've seen (yeah they are rare, so it could be the same one in all the pictures :D) is the dots are not so closely spaced it seems.

Nice fish, but not nice enough for the price that they're going for around these parts :D

Everyone you have seen has been a juvi Mike... those look to be adults or teenagers.

Gresh is correct Mike, they are adults. Far and away the largest fish in my tank, they are around 8-10" long. They are feeding now as well, nori and frozen foods. They were caught as a pair and the differences between the male and female are very clear, their body shape is markedly different. As far as I am aware, no-one here has a pair, not even the local aquarium- they only have a single juvinile. 8)

How do you go about catching these fish?

Louey

Freediving, with a net. A fence net makes it easier, but is sometimes impractical.
