I've been consistently been told to use a Quarantine tank to use hypo-salinity to treat my ich ridden powder brown tang. I've been told that I could use as little as an 18g rubbermaid bin from target with a powerhead and a heater for two weeks using tank water of about 10g and ro di of about 6 gallons. should I bring the salinity to 1.009 right away the first day? what do people think about a set up due to lack of space and funds?

i have read that some strains of ich are resistant to hyposalinity. Maybe a copper treatment would be more effective?

What else do I need besides the heater and powerheads + do I need lights?? I could use a 30gallon rubbermaid bucket I have too. What percentage of tank water to new water should I use? what salinity should I start with? 1.02?
