I bought a new auto top off system and the user manual mentioned about connecting the tube to a suction filter. Power cord should connect to a GFCI (what is GFCI?) for safety concern.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

A gfci outlet are the outlets with the buttons in the middle. You might have them in your kitchen. I am sure someone else with electrical expertise will chime in. They are basically made to work similar to a breaker. They are always a good idea, especialy if there is water present.

ground fault circuit intoruptor.... basically hook it up to a power strip with a circuit breaker incase it shorts out...

i wouldnt wirry abt a suction filter(pre filter) if its running off your ro/di system..thats plenty filter enough... theyre trying to keep crap out of the solenoid so it doesnt hang up and keep flowing water and cause a flood, hence the gfci... hope this explains everything..
