As some of you know , I work in a hospital , my great friend ( mortition ) at work wants to make a display tank for med students doing internships .

This display tank will not hold fish!!! But instead it will be filled 3/4 way full of formaldahide to display , spleens, livers , brains and eyes , among a few other things I wont mention , my question is , will silicone hold up baffles or will the formaldahide break it down after some time ? All info would be greatly appreciated !.

You talking about Frank?

If formaldehyde were to break down the silicone for baffles, wouldn't you be concerned about it breaking down the silicone that holds the tank together? ;)

Not Realy , because they currently have small 5 gal tanks and they have had them for a few years with zero leaks and no not frank lol junior is his name , but I know I won't be able to do a factory style seal on these baffles , it's not gonna have mp10s or any current in them lol so I just want it to be sturdy enough

Not sure what a 'factory style seal' means. 100% Silicone is 100% Silicone. If it has been holding the tanks together for years, I'd expect it to be able to hold the baffles in place, especially since the tank itself is a positive outward pressure and the baffles will likely be no outward pressure.

Your buddy isn't Dr. Stein..... Frank N. Stein Jr. maybe? :banghead:
