If lfs are running systems with copper or systems in hypo salinity how is it you can still see ich on the fish. Is it not enough copper? Not low enough salinity?
With hypo it needs to be done for 30 days until the last spot seen. No fish store wants to hold on to fish that long but with copper isn't a week supposed to be good?

The only spots you see is when the pest has fed enough, and is big enough, or the scar from when they exit their victim. Copper or hypo only kills the part of the cycle when newly hatched, while it's looking for it's new victim

Most fish store will have cooper or other medication in their systems, but it's usually not enough, level needed, to kill the ich. The same with Hypo, most run their SG at lower levels but not low enough to do Hypo. When treating generally the rule is 14 days after you see the last white spot (Ich) fall off the fish, but it's probably better to do it for 4 weeks.
