I've kept a community FOWLR for the past seven years in this particular tank. Having become a bit bored with it, I've decided to change it up a bit. Saw a pair of gorgeous Volitans lions at my lfs the other day. Both are in the 7 inch range, healthy and eating well. After thinning out some of my rock to open the tank up a bit, and trading in all but one of my smaller community fish, I'm picking up the lions today. I may add a snowflake eel at some point and perhaps a large cinnamon clown for some activity, but the two lions together will look pretty imposing. I've kept single specimens before and while they're not terribly active, they are one of my favorite fish in terms of appearance and "wow" factor. Have to stock up on seafood now. 8)

The lionfish will eat any fish that will fit in their mouths.

You need to consider that before you buy the cinnamon clown.

Yeah, I know about their ability to take out smaller fish. I've seen some cinnamon clowns that are pretty big, and they're fairly pugnacious as well. I did keep my blackback butterfly, which is about 5 inches. The lions have shown no interest in it at all, but I'm going to watch closely to see if they begin to. The lions have settled in and have explored the tank, becoming quite active when the bright lights went out. They both took some silversides and have since retreated to a corner and are chilling.
It was pretty impressive watching them swim in the water column with their fins extended. I'll try to get some pics soon.
