If it is R12, you will need a licensed technician to do it, but if it s R134A, you can do it your yourself with the proper gauges. You will also need to find out the operating pressure on the high and low side. I am sure the manufacturer has those details somewhere.

I did mine myself the nozzle were you charge it from is a different size for r12 and for r123a the later i believe is a bigger valve i had to charge mine and used one of the kits you can buy at autozone or straus it comes with a small gauge and a can of r123a . It is best if you can get your hands on a vacuum pump to get everything out of the system so you don't contaminate the new freon but if it has never been taken apart then a charge alone should be fine .
The cover is fairly easy to remove so you can see the valve inside and any refrigerator repair place should be able to do it if your not up to it the compressor is exactly like a refrigerator .
My chiller is about 6 years old bought from marinedepot it was a drop in type 6 months after purchasing the drop in coil broke it was probably the 3rd time I moved it marinedepot told me the company went out of business and I am on my own so I had to cut the broken section out of mine resoder it and charge it 5 1/2 years later it still works. Good Luck
