heya guys,

I'm working on setting up a nano dwarf SH tank and making my own phos/carb reactor. Its going to be split off of the main pump from the sump so i don't have to add another pump into the system and i don;t need that much flow.

Now i have two options,

1. To plumb it next to the nozzle leading into the main tank, so i would have two outputs into the display.

OR....

2. leave the outake tube from the mini reactor to flow back into the fuge, partially recirculating into the reactor system, double filtering the water.

Now this lead me to start thinking about filtration in general and the pro's/cons in straight line cycle filtration or refiltering partially the water already beeing filtered or allowing the water to reloop back into the filtration to run once again in the carb/phos. So if your getting a 50% split down between water going into the main tank and the other half going back into the reactor + half of the water passing through the fuge. Is it better than running all the water in the system through and cycle that pattern? OR does it really not matter as far as water quality goes.

Discuss.
