Recommend a Netbook

I'm looking at buying a netbook, I'm thinking of picking up the Asus EEE 1000.

What do you guys think? Basically I'm just looking for a lightweight notebook I can lounge and surf with.

I brought my 1000Ha with 2G Ram and 120G HD $499 + tax

Screen is good and if you are using for surfing, it definitely suffix.

Not sure with other applications yet as I have not try them yet.

Batterylife is really what makes it alive as I have not worried about it since I the start this business trip. Use it at the airport, on the plane, then again on the transfer airport and at the destination waiting for pick up. I can basically use whenever and where ever I want and justy plug the power cord back once home. Next day, do the same thing.....

I am using it now.

Note: The native resolution is 1024 x 600 which may be not compatible with some very special custom applications like my Karaoke System Software.

Because netbooks are smaller than regular pc's they need smaller and less power hungry cpu's. So they need another line of Intel / AMD cpu's.

How do they compare in speed? I love my Macbook Pro, but I'm too chicken to leave the house with it.

buy whatever you can get on sale. they're all just about the same.

the cpu on the micolaptop won't make too much of a difference. They are only good for surfing, email and some word processing.

Will an Atom processor handle tasks like divx video, remote desktop, and maybe a webcam?
