I used the salifert worm exit without taking anything out of my tank. Nothing died. All the bugs are gone. stuff really works.

Just make sure you have some type of carbon filtration system and some water to do a partial water change. the carbon is very important and is based upon how many red bugs you have. the more you have the more carbon you will need to use. the stuff in the worm exit is not toxic to the aquarium at all it is the red bugs. When they die they melt and leave a toxic substance behind. Melvs reef has a great read up on the use of the product.

good luck

red bugs isn't the same as the red flat worms
I don't believe FWE gets rid of red bugs either

From my experience, hermits tend to cannibalize with each other when in a bare tank, or bucket in your base, by themselves. Its like they need rocks to graze off of to keep them occupied or something.
