Reef brite LEDs

Was at a local fish store on flatbush ave. they had 36" LEDs made by reef brite. For $239.00 are they any good .

I am only familiar with their blue actinic supplements, but they are really, really good. One of the few that I have seen that are strong enough to cut through MH lighting and act as real supplemental lighting. The company is also based in NJ so customer service is easy and local.

they are just supplement lighting, if you want them to light your tank solely to maintain corals it will not work, if you want to add them to what you have now then they are just fine

These units can support corals. BUT ....Multiple ones would be needed to cover a tank though and can become pricey and wouldn't be worth it.

Most use them as supplemental lights. To get shimmer and/or add more blue to their tank for more coral "pop"

figured for that price they wouldn't be strong enough for use as main lighting .

i have 2 72" whites and 1 48" blue on my 175 and they light it up! good but not great but i figure i save on electric! again corals do ok, not great! i have hammers frogspawn 3 anemones finger leathers mushrooms and kenya
