Are reefer ratings meant only for the buyer to give the seller or is the seller suppose to reciprocate a rating for the buyer?

i dont use it for negative reasons. if i did my reefer rating would be at 50% because of all the flakers i would have given a negative would be giving me one back. sort of a useless tool. Example ( this guy flaked on me and called me at 11am saying he was coming at 5 and never showed up) then there response would be ( i never said that. dont listen to this guy he is a liar) yeah thats what i want people to see. Thats why i never give negative feedback. if i see that same guy selling or buying anything i will PM the buyer or seller in that thread and tell him what he did to me

If you receive one bad rating in retaliation for one, but the other person has 10 bad ratings for flaking, you'll be ok. I don't just look at the numbers, but at the comments. The system will work if people use it properly.

yeah its not used properly. the better way would be to have a forum and you can write your expierence there. this way if you want to check just type the guys name in and bam there is a whole post on the expierence along with a discussion. and the reefer rating system should be monitored so it can work. making sure the flaker cant bad mouth the seller and vice/versa

You can add the deal thread to the reefer rating, so if you have a discussion there, you can link to it directly from the rating.

If we are afraid to use it for the fear of retaliation, then the reefer rating really means nothing.
I would say submit whatever rating you want.
If there is a dispute, MODS should be able to step in and evaluate the situation and then remove/override the ratings to which ever side received the incorrect rating due to retaliation.
If both are at fault, then both should get penalized.

I think this is a good idea, but in reality, it would be very difficult to enforce properly. The nature of the reefer rating system is he-said-she-said, so under most circumstances, I can't see a Mod being able to figure out who is right or wrong, simply from the feedback/story.
I agree. This is keeping me from leaving a negative feedback on someone who has a higher positive rating than I do as I don't want the negative point retaliation. I went out of my way to offer something on his WTB thread, frag the coral, set up times for pickup via numerous PMs and text messages then he flakes.

This hobby is full of people flaking. Unless, they ask you meet them half way from a 30 minute drive and your loading a full system then it is warranted. Otherwise, flaking will occur and honestly flaked here and there. Look at my reefer rating and I guarantee those transactions ratings have become future hobby friendships. Sh*t happens and in the tri-state it's hard to get around.
You learn who flakes. Either don't sell to them again in the future or return the favor?
Negative ratings should those that have given a description of their items and obviously failed to live up to expectation, not handing over a paid item that the seller listed, not giving a refund for items not received, broken items, or simply bad transaction experience.

There are people on here that are "good" that have screwed people out of Thousands.. A lot of trash/waste of life people on here.. Good thing it's not the majority. But trash always get what they deserve...

Don't forget sellers flake on the buyer also sometimes. They get better offers or other situations. I don't even look at the ratings usually if I'm dealing with someone.

It would be courteous for reefers to leave ratings back if you have left ratings for them - regardless of whether you're the buyer or seller.
if someone doesn't leave them for you and you left it for them, I would send a "touching base" PM asking if they were dissatisfied with the transaction and if they wouldn't mind leaving one for the transaction. Sometimes people just don't use systems the way they are intended to be used.

Easy solution. Don't do business in Pm's. Do it in the actual thread so everyone sees who is in line for item, who flakes and who is full of ****.
Then leave your ratings accordingly with a thread link

your right they might be well educated just never tought ethics of life, to treat some one the way you want to be treated and that is learned at home not at school
