refugium or no refugium

Im looking to build the sump for a 57 tank and if i build a refugium its going to be pretty small. Would it be worth it make it, or should i just build the sump without it and get an oversize skimmer and run gfo and carbon?

A refugium if you have the room is 100% worth it.

Yeah that debate. Got me thinking maybe an algea turf scrubber might bebefit me better then a small refugium
