My sump has 2 peppermint shrimp, and a brittle starfish. Some cheato, 2 mangroves, and about 30 lbs of rock and rubble.
There is also an angler section w/ a few damsels as live food for the angler

My lights are also on reverse schedule in my sump

I am not sure, but I think 6" sand bed in your sump might be to much-I AM A ROOKIE- ASK OTHER MORE EXPERIANCED MEMEBRS!

Yeah take the sand out unless you have serious water movement it just becomes a phosphate holder and nutrient holder after a year..
I have a 125gallon sump/refugium with lr and bob sea grass
