Remora Pro:Sleeker Pump?

I am using a Mag 3 Pump to power a Remora Pro HOB Skimmer. Is there a sleeker (more sleek?) Pump to Run this HOB Skimmer?

The Mag 3 looks really bulky in my tank.

Can you run an out-of-tank pump to power the Remora?

In any case I`m looking for something quiet, efficient, and not ridiculously expensive.

It sells in two configurations. One with the Mag 3 and the otehr with the RIO 1400.

I know nothing about either one of them.

Seems like your skimmer is loud...

I wonder if this is one of the reasons why people sell them so often....

Well ---mine isnt loud---I just wanted to make sure that the new thing I was getting wasnt.

The Mag 3 is supposed to be more efficient than the Rio, due to the bigger pump. But then you give up space in your tank and it's noisier because of the bigger pump. Do a google search, and you may find a few ways to silence it, but not significantly though.

The pump needs to be submerged for the skimmer to work.
