Hello all

Just wanted to let folks know about the status of my bropsis outbreak or infestation that occurred over the past year. on August 8th 2007 I installed the PG refugium with the built in skimmer and got chaeto. It took about a month to work. The chaeto grew like crazy and in inverse proportion after that to the bryopsis which disappeared.

However now calerpa mexicana is making a comeback. Havent checked the phosphates but the health of the tank seems very good.

I will post before and after pics.

In summary at least for my tank, the refugium seems to work.

Now I need to get some pods/snails/hermits etc.. for the refugium. Any suggestions?

Regards

Mario

nassarius snails are always good, hermits and snails together is not a good idea in there.Crabs are shell thieves.Sometimes pods usually come with the cheatomorpha but sometimes it doesn't like mine.I like to get some for my sump.Pods that is.

If you've got LR in your display, I would imagine there should be pods in there. The pods will make it to the fuge, as long as you have no pod predators in the fuge (which there shouldn't be) then the pods will multiply in there, naturally.

I've started up many systems. I've NEVER physically or knowingly added pods. All the systems I've set up are teeming with pods now.

I added the CPR 24"(?) fuge to my 15 gallon nano and it worked miracles. Added some liverock and cheato now I have TONS of pods and bristle worms with one snail to clean the glass in the fuge. I also have some baby suncorals in there as well. Sand bed in the fuge is about 2-3" I vac the fuge out about once a month. Thanx House :)
