Return line question

I finally bought a sump and a pump. I am trying to get the 3/4" tubing on to my 3/4" barbed bulkhead, and cannot get the tubing to attach to more than 2 of the 5 barbs on the bulkhead.

Any recommendations on making this fit, any way to lubricate it? All the tubing in the store was either 3/4" or 1-1/4".

put the end of the tube in hot water, allows it to stretch a bit. it should slide on with a little effort

hey was up , this is the away i do it end it allways work for me with no problem,,,take it out tubing go to the stove turn it on end get the part you want to go in real hot to went you see it turn a lil bit soft end right away go slide it in before it gets cold again , ,,,,,but remenber dont burn it dont get the tubing to much near the fire ,,

Don't use fire, just boil a cup of water in the microwave, then put the vinyl tubing into the water. It softens it up perfectly, no worry about melting it on an open flame.

If you use intense heat some of the chemicals can leach out of the hose.

As long as you don't stick your finger in the water to see if it's hot enough LOL:biggrin:
