I put four beads of silicone in the corners of all my submersible pumps. It gives them little legs made of silicone and makes them silent. If you can do without a return pump for about 24 hours it's the only way to go.

Easy solution that you dont have to worry about...

Just take some 3/4 vinyl tubing and attach a few strands to the bottom of your pump.

Pshht,
4 beads of silicone will cost you about 25 cents and last longer than the pump will. Just give a quick squeeze in each corner and you're good to go! Allow it to cure for 24 hours and you're all set.

Hey Fritz I hear ya. I just don't have another pump to use while the silicone dries.:fishhit:

Depending on how much flow your return provides you could just not have it on for 24 hours. If it does provide all of your flow you should look into adding another powerhead to your display hooked up to a battery backup. Should you experience a power outage you'll loose all your live stock without any flow. A simple powerhead can keep everything fine for awhile till the power comes on.
