heat issue/pump issue
I have a 90 gal tank with a 12hundred gal per hour over flow box i am using a the herbie method style with a mag 9 pump going about 4' 3" high through a 3/4" return. For some reason the water is hot about 80*f i had to turn down the pump to have a 6" water level in the last stage of my sump i also have mag 9 on my aquac ev 180 turn down. the question is can these 2 pumps when turn down cause this much heat? should i down grade to mag 7 for return?.........also looking for the name of a good salt mix and live sand i can use start,my tank is running with only rodi water.
