Ric's Died

I had 2 large colony or purple/blue Ric's in my sump and for no reason they all started to died within a couple of days. Created such a stink and mess in the middle compartment of the sump and caused some of the zoo's colonies that I have in there to close up. Lucky it didn't have any effect on the tank. I had to drain the middle compartment and add new water. My bristle worms where climbing the glass because of the die off.

srry to hear that Mike .My mushrooms this week spilt and died as well for no reason ,this is the 4th time it happened ,they split and die on me ,,no expliantion ..

How long did you have they down inthe sump area for?

They where is the sump for a # of weeks without a problem. I just change the light on the sump and the temp has gone up which may have been the problem. The worms, pods and mysic shrimp are all doing fine.

Worms, pods and mysis are all more resilient than most corals. What color rics? I might frag one for you Mike :wink1: if I got it.

They where Blue/Purple, got them off of ebay and they cost a pretty penny. I didn't have the room for them in my tank, don't have the room for alot of things I have.

thanks Dean but I'm going to have even less room as I'm getting 2 small clam this week. Trying to see how long these will last before they die

mike, last time i got rics from fishtown they werent pretty as well, many of us that got the same yumas melted in like 2 days, for no apparent reason, my friend said those ricks might have been infected with a ricordia specific diease.
