Sadly, I must report the demise of my long time reef denizen, my Marine Betta. This fish has been with me since 1994 and was one of my 3 original fish when I began the hobby ( the others- 2 tangs are still alive). It was a model citizen from day one, eating everything and bothering nothing. In the past few weeks he had stopped feeding and appeared to have very limited vision-- all signs which foretold this inevitable outcome.

It was a good run.:sad2:

Poor fishie. At least we can be sure he lived a long, predator-free, famine-free life.

I would guess that the fish that land in our tanks, provided that they are well taken care of, exceed their wild life-spans. 13 years is a long time! Which tangs have you had that long?

My condolences Randy!! I know how you feel! I lost 4 fish I had had for over 15yrs. when I moved.;)

Zany, when did you post your Achilles past away? I didn't see your post, or I would have surely offered my sympathy as well to you.

Sorry for the loss Randy.

It sounds like old age caught up to him, no disease, predator or powerheads.
You gave him a good life out of the ocean, we should all strive to keeping our fish
alive that long.
