So I have had my ro/di now for a few months. Everything was working fine until today. The flow seems to have slowed down alot. It's barely coming out. How would I go in behalf of figureing out which filter needs to be replaced? The online tds meter is still reading 0. Is the water that is coming out good even though it took all day to fill up my bucket? Any advise will be appreciated

Hi,

In my opinion you should check and replace first cartridge, it's pre-filter cartridge. This is what I'm doing when my ro producing is low.

Thanks for reply. I took out the first filter to see if flow got better but it did not. As I turn water back on, the return (waste water) seems to be pulsing out/spitting out. It's not a steady flow like before. After a few minutes the steady waste flow is back. But the outlet rodi water drips out. Not like before

What does your pressure gauge read? What you describe could be caused by a clogged prefilter (prefilter = all the filters that treat the water before it reaches the RO membrane). If one or more of your prefilters is clogging, the pressure gauge would tell you that.

in 90% of cases, if you change ALL the prefilters, the flow should return to normal. In the 10% of cases, usually after a number of years if you changed prefilters regularly, its the membrane.
Try change out all the prefilters. I do not recommend running the RO without the prefilters to "test" it out because chlorine in tap water will damage the membrane. That's why the carbon is before the membrane.
