Will the 100GPD membrane sold at THATPETPLACE fit in my Spectrapure(currently with a 90 GPD membrane)?

I thought I remember reading that the almost all of the membranes are made by DOW and are all a standard size. Is that true?

Thanks

It will fit. Research the rejection rate before you buy it though.

Thanks Guy. Where would I find the rejection rate? I guess I would have to ask THATPETPLACE.

I had issues with a Kent membrane fitting correctly in my Spectrapure unit, could have been an anomoly though.

basic deal with rejection rates involving 100gpd membranes vs 75gpd (and lower)

100gpd rejection of ~ 90%, 75gpd ~98%

I emailed spectrapure to find out more info about other brand RO membranes, and they warned me of the rejection rate on the 100gpd membranes. In light of that I think I'm gonna end up going with a 75 instead.

I run a Tap Water Purifier(DI) on the end, so I'm not too concerned with the rejection rate at this time.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Well lower rejection rate means more resin you'll use up in the DI stage. So if 100 ppm (of whatever) go into the membrane 98% rejection will leave 2ppm, 90% will leave 10ppm, so you'll go through DI resin 5x as fast.

No doubt. However, I need the larger amont of GPD. I use my RO off the tap and do not use float valves. So I need to make a lot of water in a short period of time. I'll just need to replace the TWP more often.

Don't forget that if you start swapping membranes, and you change capacity (gpd), your flow restrictor needs to match your membrane.

An option is to get an adjustable flow restrictor.
