I am using a Kent RO sytem and i just upgraded my membrane from the original 60gpd to 150gpd. i changed the flow restrictor but now the unit will not shut down automatically and the my pressure guage reads 25psi with or without the booster pump running. the original membrane was running at 40psi under normal water pressure and 90 psi with the pump. i am also using the drinking water kit but did not do any mods to it. anyone have any clues as to why it does not shut off automatically or why the pressure is all whacked?

the only reason i did not get the original because one of our vendors..which i will not mention by name, said that it would not be an issue upgrading as long as i changed to the proper flow restrictor. i'm hoping that there customer service has a solution for me

ok.....i replaced the new flow restrictor with the original one and the unit seams to be working correctly. TDS going in is 39 and getting a TDS of 1 coming out. i do not use a DI so i guess i will have to live with a minute reading or add on a DI to get a 0 reading but i always had a reading of 1 or 2 beforehand and never had any issues.

An ASOV often won't work with a 150 gpd membrane, nor will an 8800 booster pump. By using a 60 gpd restrictor with a 150 gpd membrane you'll find that your waste to permeate ratio is less than the recommended 4:1. This can lead to the premature buildup of scale within the membrane, but with feedwater at only 60 ppm, you may get away with it for some time.
