I have three rock anemones in my tank. Last night the most active one spawned (it frequently expands, contracts, elongates & retracts to a huge extent, while the other two are fairly static). For about an hour it repeatedly elongated & retracted its stalk & twisted from side to side discharging milky white fluid into the water column. My Lineatus Wrasse & my Blue Flasher Wrasse both actively ate the effluvium, even darting in and grabbing mouth fulls off of the anemone between waves of discharge. My two Rhomboid Wrasses & the other aquarium inhabitants were entirely unaffected by the event.
This morning all were alive & well -- I had my worries after reading about tank die off after anemone & coral spawning.
