I do not use a pump, I have mine getting water right from the cold water line. I never even heard of using a pump. I have not seen water pressure higher than what is recommended yet in a house/apt. The 2 biggest factors on a properly plumbed rodi unit for gpd is water pressure and temperature. If the water pressure is too low and the water too cold then the output will be very slow. Typically for me my 100gpd rodi gets me about 35-40 gpd.

All,

If you're getting 60% less than your RODI unit prescribes, then you don't have the right pressure to run the unit -

one of the best add-ons for my RODI was the pressure guage - I only run my water when I can get at least 50lbs of pressure from the tap - I have found that running it at night after 9 pm is best - this way everyone in the building is done bathing (for the most part) and are likely not doing laundry - all of which takes away from the pressure.
