Do you have any cleaner shrimp in your tank? Try garlic but it might not work. Sometimes the cleaner shrimp will pluck the ick off the fish, sometimes they won't.

Only way to get rid of it and set up a hospital tank and move the fish then let the main tank sit fishless for a month and treat the Hosp tank with copper. Keep in mind no inverts or corals can be in that QT tank because the copper gets into the seals and such.

Yeah I have a Large Cleaner and Medium Blood Fire and they both try to jump on the Hippo and Gramma, but with no success, i have seen the hippo let the cleaner go at him once, but thats it,

Don I heard the reef safe stuff should be dosed in a hosp tank too. I dunno if that's true tho.

I know, I've been procrastinating, in getting one set up. And I know how important it is to have one, also space is an issue. there are already 3 tanks in my apartment, don't know if I can set up another,

I've left my fish in since everyone know I was having trouble getting my fish out of the tank. It seems to be going away on its own. It had it on its tail and it went away but now there is just a little white spot on his fin. Which I'll give it another week. Maybe my tiger shrimp may be helping. Who knows.

If you can't get him (them) out of the tank easily you could always just wait it out because the hospital tank will work but the ICH will still be in your main tank unless you remove all fish for at least 60 days. If the RG & HT are eating like normal, it may be good to keep them in the main tank & let them fight it naturally with the aid of the cleaners.

This is what I did with my copperband & firefish. Now they are naturally resistant against irritans.

Well last night I notice the fish are finally letting the cleaners do their job, they still are eating alot. Very cool to watch the hippo lay down while the Blood fire went to work, my cleaner was real busy with the other fish yesterday. So I'll wait it out, I can do nothing else.
