i have 2 tds meters on my rodi. one is before it goes into the di the other after it leaves the di. both read 0.

Something is wrong with the "before" sensor.

We all have issues with your TDS reading. You can not get zero TDS out of an RO. About the lowest is 1 ppm TDS. The max a good RO will give is about 98 %. Even if your tap water was 50 ppm TDS, that is still a TDS of 1 ppm.

As I said before, I also question you PO4 readings, as I never heard of RC having any real PO4. Here is an example of some salt tested in a research lab using ICP as just one example, although it is an old ICP study.

Take the blue number ppm PO4 = ( nmoles/l x 95 ) / 1,000

NSW = (.2 x 95) / 1,000 = 0.019 ppm .......( And is nmol not mmol, as mmol give 19 ppm PO4)

IO = (.05 x 95) / 1000 = 0.004 ppm PO4

RC = (.32 x 95) / 1000 = 0.03 ppm PO4

However, on reefs it is more on the order 0.004 - 0.009 ppm PO4

Our test kits or PO4 metes can not read as low as most of these numbers for salt mixes and when you throw in actual accuracy they are worse. Only down to 0.03 ppm PO4. And theri accuracy is +/- 0.04 ppm + +/- 4 % of reading.

is esv the best salt out there now?

There is really no such thing as "best", unless one has seen full blown data sheets. And having a so called "best" salt does not make or mean you will be more successful, it is a myth. A salt mix does not break or make a tank, the guy in the mirror does :) There is no full assay sheet on ESV or any assay sheet. However, I know Bob, how he operates and feel it is a very good salt. I hope you know it is a multi-component salt, where you have to mix x amount of bag a, b and c. Based on raw data sheets the new SeaChem Labs salt, Aqua Vitro Reef Salt is the best.

I would like to add to this in my own testings,

I have found out that bright well salt does not have high po4 but and I do stress the term but... I have found out that if salt is exposed to sun light and high temps. that yes it will start to leach out po4 from the salt I had salt and I can show the numbers that the salt was leaching .40 from the salt alone and the water was 0.00 I am obsessed with testing my whole tank.

also i was told not to go above 50 psi by the manufacturer. i find when i do i get 1 or 2 going into the di. when i keep the psi around 35-40 psi it is 0

That is just silly. First, any good RO/DI system runs above 50 psi. At 35 - 40 PSI it is crap and that reject rate of 98 % drops like a rock. RO is a large function of PSI. Very well run RO's run at over 100 PSI. Who's RO/DI do you have ?

I do no know how, Sorry, some people can dream up things. You can not leach something out of salt that is not there. If you got PO4 reading as claimed it is not from the salt. Look at air getting into salt, with its contaminates, the container leaching, false test kit readings, bacterial growth. If you stick a glass of water in the sun bacteria and algae will grown in it and die in it raising PO4.

Well, they are lost to say the least. It is fine to run the RO above 50 psi. When you run it low like that the rejection rate is lower giving poorer water quality of the RO water.

Now some info on our TDS reading. They are fine. Your area has a TDS of around, and I can not believe it, ~ 30 ppm TDS.

98 % x 30 = .6 ppm TDS And many meters will show zero below 1 ppm TDS
