Btw, can anyone help me out. I was told all these little frags are leathers but since these are my first leather corals I was wondering why only one of the frags were opening polyps and the others are just close...one looks like it's bleaching but it's alive so far...don't know what to do about him...the one on the bottom center left in the whole tank shot. Here's the supposed leather with polyps and the closed one.

m'akoyPINOY - Thanks, Yea I got those leathers from Dallas. Was around your area wasn't I?

nasone - Thanks, It's a 12 Gallon Nano Cube DX. The hardest thing is to have patience for the corals to grow naturally. I just want to fill those rocks up.

NYreefNoob - Thanks, I know that there's a Palythoa and the leather but I don't thing that's a xenia surrounded by the Palythoa in the second to last picture, the one with multiple polyps. I have another xenia up on the rock right by where the flow is and those two look very different. :P

edit:: oh yea, you guys can see my pump that I set as a powerhead on the full tank shot. It's supposed to be the return pump from the back but I got a new supposedly stronger pump. So now I'm just waiting for a koralia mini cuz a koralia 1 or2 does look big in my small tank.

basquiat08 - Oh yea someone else told me that too. But all they've been sucking on are algae from the glass. That's all, but trust me that minute i see them sucking on a zoa i'll be picking them like crazy.

m'akoyPINOY - Yea I had the coleman cooler with me. But I was just in a rush to get it home cuz it was hot. As you can see from the pics I don't even know if they're doing well...I really don't know how this species of leather looks.

Looking good.
The leathers look fine. If you don't see them decaying or falling apart, then they are good. They can go several days, even weeks, without fully opening. I find that mine tend to have better contrast when closer to the lights, the polyps get whiter, the base gets darker. I am pretty sure they are devil's hand leathers (lobophytum) from the shape and the fact that they have two different polyps, the extending ones and the flat 'freckle' looking ones.
