I have one for the AP 24. It does pull out a lot of green tea but it also spews out alot of microbubbles. I've had it running for over month, the tank is lightly stocked, one clown a few zoo frags. I've also noticed that if the level in the back chamber fluctuates the skimmer goes out of wack.
If I can figure out how to stop the bubbles it would be a good skimmer. Personally, only because of the price increase, I wouldn't recommend the skimmer. I bought mine for $104 with shipping, now it's $140 with shipping.

I have one in my AP 24. It does pull pretty nice with the cup raised about 3/4 of the way up, but it's not a "sludge", but a dark brown "wet" skim-mate. It is, though, a small cup so I empty it every 2 days. I still get a few micro bubbles in the display, but as I'm feeding a disappearing wrasse, pygmy angel, and a neon goby (small, but eats like a pig), I tolerate the trade off on the bubbles. I did get it at the original price, but now that it's up to $140.00 I might look at alternatives, unless you're committed to the hood. If you're running topless, you have a lot of options at the same price point.

I bought mine also at the original price about a month ago. After solving the issue of the water level in the back chamber (i had to lower it quite a bit), the skimmer produces quite a bit of nice greenish-brownish foam, although I only have a cleaning crew in my aquarium. I had lots of bubbles in the beginning for about 2 weeks, now the bubble-producing is down to a noticable but not annoying level.
