I've never had this happen to me before so I've got to ask:

Does anyone know why my Scarlet Hermits would be turning orange?

I recently lost power in my building, only for an hour but my tank got up to almost 82 degrees when I keep it at around 78 degrees. It was a weird day, my 6-line wrasse was also beaten up by something (I have no idea what could do this to it). It's right fin and tail were shredded and parts of its back belly look reddened. I have a serpent star, but besides that, what could possibly do this? All of my powerheads have covers. Could bristleworms do such a thing, maybe while it's sleeping?

Sorry to mix crabs and fish here but I don't want to waste anyone's time with two posts.

Thanks

Green serpent star?

Excerpt: This animal is a predatory fish eater, that does indeed do a spiffy janitorial job when small... but grows quickly, and under darkness of night can/does learn to eat aquarium fishes. This species has been documented to arch up in "sleeping caves" of captive fishes and drop down on unsuspecting meals. If you use this species, keep an eye on it, and a count on your piscine livestock.

An hour at 82 is nothing to sweat about. Animals can deal with that level of fluctuations no problem.
Not sure about your crab and fish. Maybe the crab is ready to molt? The fish could just rub on a rock. If all you have in the tank are worms and star, they could not have done the damage you are talking about to a six line.

I have a six line, the only thing that can hurt it was a damsel.

My serpent star is a banded star and its color is pink with dark pink stripes so I don't think it's a green serpent. I would be shocked if the star caused the damage, especially since I recently fed it with some fresh fish chunks. I just can't believe the damage I saw on my wrasse. I do have a pair of true percs. Is it possible that they defended their territory and attacked the wrasse? The wrasse seeems to be the bully of my tank so I don't think the clowns would do this unless they're defending some eggs that I haven't seen.
